Relationships challenge us to be the best we can be.  In relationships we are challenged to maintain a sense of self and to intimately connect with our partner. We need to feel safe in our relationships.  When we do not feel safe, we increase our desire to control.  Couples counseling can promote self-discovery and understanding of how past emotional injuries affect our behavior with our partner. Participating with your partner in therapy can be a very healing process.
